Many-toothed Sea Snake
Hydrophis caerulescens
Many-toothed Sea Snake is a medium sized Sea Snake which is found from Gujarat to West Bengal also one of the frequently seen Sea Snake in Western coasts. Usually confusing with other Sea Snakes having prominent bands but can be identified by checking dark color bands which are always broader than the interspace between them. In many parts of range this is one the most frequently captured as bycatch in fishing activities and few medically significant cases are known from it.
